What does 'big data' actually mean?

A new Econsultancy/Lynchpin survey of 446 client-side marketers has found thatrespondents tended to be quite positive towards the concept of 'big data'.

Three-quarters of respondents (76%) agreed that it has uncovered optimisation opportunities which would not otherwise have been possible, while 47% see it as the best way of bringing online and offline data together.
